TECNO's first foldable ponsel pintar is now official in the Philippines!

First announced last MWC 2023, the TECNO Phantom V Fold 5G is the very first foldable ponsel pintar/tablet hybrid from the merk. It is using a 7.85-inch Ultra-flat folding Dual LTPO AMOLED Main Screen with 2K+ 2296 x 2000 resolution, 10-120Hz self-adapted High Refresh Rate, 1,100 nits peak brightness, P3 color gamut, dual 10.7-bit color depth.

Highlights of the TECNO Phantom V Fold 5G

The second screen is a 6.42-inch Curved AMOLED Sub Screen (cover screen) with 2550 x 1080 resolution. The screen-to-body ratio of its Main Screen is 90 percent while the Curved Sub Screen is 90.1 percent.

TECNO is boasting that it has a virtually "crease-free" with just 0.11mm Screen Crease thanks to its use of an "aerospace-grade Innovative Hinge design. TECNO said that it can survive 200,000+ folds as well.

Aside from the folding display, TECNO also highlights that it has a powerful camera configuration. In particular, its big camera bump with a textured finish uses a 50MP 1/1.3-inch f/1.85 main shooter, 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP Portrait shooter with 2x zoom. For selfies, it has a 32MP UHD Sub Screen camera and a 16 Main Screen camera.

For the rest of the specs, the device is equipped with a 4nm 3.05GHz MTK Dimensity 9000+ octa-core chip with Mali-G710 MP10 GPU, 12GB LPDDR5X, 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 memory, 5,000mAh battery with USB-C 45W fast charging claimed to bring fully charged within 55 minutes.

It also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, WiFi 6, 5G SA/NSA, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

The device is available in Black and White colorways and measures 159.4 x 140.4 (unfolded) or 71.95 (folded) x 6.8 mm (unfolded), 14.53 mm (folded).

Capital A chief executive officer Tony Fernades bared this plan during a briefing with reporters on Monday. 

The official said his group would meet with Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista to discuss Capital A’s possible entry into the industry. 

Our dream is to move people in the sky and on the road. We need to go to the airport, right, we need to come to the airport. When you are traveling, you need someone to move you around as well. I hope we can discuss the license. We think it’s good. I’m all about reducing cost. So, yes we’re gonna join, Fernandes said.

Last 2021, Capital A introduced AirAsia Ride in Malaysia. The same platform was rolled out in Thailand and Indonesia last year. 

Grab Philippines is the dominant player in the ride-sharing market.

OnePlus released another Nord smartphone and this called the N30 5G bringing a few upgrades from its predecessor.
Nord 30 CE 3 Lite 5G announced last April.

CAMON 20 Pro with 4G instead of 5G

The TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 4G has a similar look to the CAMON 20 Pro 5G, but with a 2.4GHz 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU instead of the Dimensity 8050 SoC.

No OIS, but it is still a capable 64MP sensor

The other difference lies in its camera configuration, this one has no OIS. But, it retained the 64MP f/1.7 RGBW sensor with PDAF focus. It doesn't have a macro sensor as well. Instead, its 2MP depth camera is paired with an "AI" camera.
